Korean Hand Therapy

5 Min

Korean Hand Therapy is a microsystem acupuncture method that maps the entire body onto the hands, allowing treatment of various conditions through hand stimulation.

This system of treatment was developed by Dr. Tae-Woo Yoo in the 1970’s and is based on the principle that the hands reflect the anatomy and physiology of the entire body, with each organ, joint, and tissue corresponding to specific points on the hands.

I have been using this system of treatment in my practice for over 20 years and have found it incredibly powerful and helpful when treating both acute and chronic issues. Some practitioners use needles; I like to apply small powerful magnets to the treatment points. This versatile method is great for those who don’t like needles, young children, and the elderly.

What I really appreciate about this way of treatment, is that I can quickly demonstrate to my patients how to locate the areas to treat and how to apply the magnets to the appropriate area. This is a really helpful tool to allow patients to get continued pain relief between acupuncture treatments.

There will be an upcoming class, taught at the clinic for those who want to learn more about KHT. In this engaging, hands-on class, you'll learn the foundational principles of the KHT system and gain practical skills you can begin using right away. You'll receive easy-to-follow worksheets, helpful resources, and the tools needed to confidently practice KHT at home.

By the end of the class, you'll be able to identify the corresponding hand points for the areas of your body that may benefit from treatment, understand the proper techniques and protocols, and feel empowered to support your own health and well-being. Whether you're looking to reduce discomfort, promote relaxation, or take a more active role in your wellness journey, this class will provide you with a solid foundation for lifelong self-care.

Please reach out to the front office staff if you are interested in taking this class.
